Who qualifies for the scholarship or how does the Lucas Fund determine who gets awarded the scholarship fund?

A senior wrestler at Jackson High School planning to pursue a college degree. It's a scholar-athlete award. Award winner will be determined by the Scholarship committee with input from the Marcelli Family.

What are the dollar amounts that are awarded?

$1,000.00 one-time scholarship award.

How do I go about applying for the scholarship award?

Apply by completing the scholarship form and mailing it to the Lucas Memorial Scholarship fund address on our contact page or fill out the Scholarship Form on our website and click submit.

Do I have to donate to qualify for the scholarship award?

Donation is not required for the award.

Can I use the scholarship toward any school?

Award may be used toward any qualified school of higher education.

Will all my information remain private?

Yes, but we would like to place the award winners name and their college/area of study on the website.

Will I be notified if I do not qualify for the scholarship?

Yes

How long does it take to determine if I qualify?

Will notify you if you do not qualify

Winner will be notified 2 weeks prior to the Jackson High School Senior Award Night Ceremony. The award will be given at that event held at the conclusion of the academic year.

Are their age restrictions?

No age restriction, but award winner must be a graduating senior.

Is my donation to the Lucas Fund tax-deductible?

Yes - it is 100% tax-deductible! The Lucas Marcelli Memorial Scholarship Fund is a non-profit corporation run by a Board of Directors (see the list officers on the "About" page). Our application for tax-exempt status has been filed under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The EIN (tax ID number) is available upon request.

Does all of my donation go to funding the Scholarship?

Yes! The officers are volunteers, and there are very minimal overhead expenses associated with The Lucas Marcelli Memorial Scholarship Fund. Most services and overhead expenses associated with the Lucas Fund are donated.
